As I flick through the many different social media feeds the high quality Tasty videos stand out, but how easy are they to actually cook?  I decided to try the Korean style BBQ Beef.

The main star of the dish is the beef of course, and it is worth finding a butcher who will cut you a single piece of rib-eye, around 700g.  If you can't find this, then smaller pre-packed cuts will work.

The beef needs to be cut into fine strips.  The easiest way to achieve this is to pop the steak in to the freezer for 15 minutes before cutting to firm up the meat. A sharp knife is must as well. Put the beef into a bowl whilst you make the marinade.

Chop the marinade ingredients and pulse in a blender until you have a smooth sweet/savoury paste to tip over the meat.  Leave to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight in the fridge.

Get a wok or cast iron pan hot and tip in the beef.  Stir fry until the meat is just cooked, tender and hot. Serve with rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice.  Scatter the cooked meat with spring onions and sesame seeds.

The dish is quite sweet and definitely would benefit from some heat or sharpness of pickled veg.
