#MeatUp - 2
The FatSteak Club isn’t just a name. We created it to be just that - a club. Everyone is welcome to join. If you want a space to write your first blog post, or to join a community that celebrates all good food, sign up!
We regularly meet up in real life to live the ethos we write - food that isn’t necessarily good for you but always makes you feel good, like a fat steak.
When one of our clubbers sent around a link to ‘the best burgers in London’ - we had found the venue for our next Meat Up - The Lord Nelson in Southwark. One cold Tuesday night, over a few drinks we debated the difficult decision of menu choice. How did we do?
The Smurf & Turf
Who could resist a title like that? A classic beef burger topped with blue cheese and crispy fried scampi.
An addition of gherkins completed this junk food take on a classic surf and turf.
The Elvis!
Transport yourself to Gracelands, kind of! This beef burger was topped with double bacon and a thick spread of peanut butter.
Perfect? Only after blue cheese was added!
Not as you would expect, the peanut butter didn’t coat the mouth, but instead left a fantastic taste after the salty bacon and blue cheese kicked in.
The Noel Edmunds Big Big Breakfast Burger
If the FatSteak club was a burger, this would be it. Imagine a beef burger, topped with cheese, and bacon. Add fried onions and a potato waffle (birdseye naturally). Top with a funny fried egg.
Smash the whole lot together, egg dripping, and open wide.
Was there a clear winner? On the night it was definitely the Breakfast Burger, but we reserve judgement for many return visits to check out the rest of the menu. Why not join the club and help us choose?
